Wingette Records NSW Showcase - Forever Since Breakfast & Ted Stroker
Don’t worry about Martians or Brunswickian’s attacking The Burg, it’s the south (NSW) you should worry about through “Wingette Records” and two of its major protagonists.
Introducing Ted Stroker (Maitland) whose songs of perversion, Catholicism (both at times), alleged substance abuse, life and all in between will leave you speechless in their humor and beauty.
Hailing from Sydney, Newcastle and Maitland “Forever Since Breakfast” (FSB) unleash songs from their new album “Right Time Burning” which rip’s through a 13 song explosion, spewing forth an epic ADHD release that gives meaning to the term pop-stirrer’s.
FSB’s splintering fight or flight pop sensibilities evoke recollections of the early impressionistic darkness of REM, the joyous simplicity of Teenage Fanclub and an innocent progressive ambition reminiscent of Wilco.
Behind the wheel are three frantic anxious pulpists: Scott Blackley (Muzzy Pep, The Great Dividing Range), Steve Reynolds (The Stiffies, The Mood) and Matthew Walker (District Champion).
On “Right Time Burning” FSB hammer home a philosophy of no second guessing, spit it out, move on and first idea, best idea.
A Lo-Fi exploration in for better or for worse, styles or no styles, at the very least FSB are kaleidoscope in their reach.
Albums and merchandise for sale at the gig.
Ted on first at 9pm.
