Thomas Hugh plays 2 sets from 8pm
Bringing the fruits of two of the worlds most musically colourful cities together from hometown Austin, Texas to Melbourne, Australia, Thomas Hugh relocated as a solo artist to Australia permanently in 2008.
Thomas' style is a combustion of new-folk and indie pop sounds ranging from old time storytelling to new and fresh bursts of musical grandiosity with influences spanning decades.
Thomas is known for 'not really having a setlist' and 'following the vibe of the crowd.' During a three year stint in Los Angeles he discovered that being a solo musician was the way for him. Moreover, it was a performance at the Maldon Folk Festival, which inspired the idea of recording new songs for what will become his latest offering.
The stripped back and 'live' sound has been a 'very refreshing approach' bringing a certain intimacy to the songs. Thomas' layered folky-fused sound takes you somewhere else.
