The Stress of Leisure, joined by The Gin Club 2 (Ben Salter and Adrian Stoyles), play the Post Office Hotel on Friday 4th November. It’s the first time the Brisbane collective has ventured to Melbourne in 2016, in anticipation of a new album planned for release next year.
Fans of Talking Heads, Devo, The B-52s and Dave Graney will love the sub-tropical oeuvre of The Stress of Leisure. It’s Queensland post-punk and irreverent as all hell. 4ZZZ describes the band as “off-kilter dancefloor filler.” The Stress of Leisure will work through many of their new songs as well as material from their previous five albums, the most recent being the critically acclaimed album Achievement. The band is looking forward to playing the Post Office Hotel with Ben and Adrian of The Gin Club. It’s a Queensland reunion of sorts but really it’s a celebration. Come dance to guitars.
