Egypt Lies is the solo project of Louis Tavolaro. Beginning as a punk outfit fresh out of high school to then more noise and darkwave related material; Transparent Image (2014) and Impressionable Youth(2015) cassettes. Egypt Lies begins the delve into pop music. Working on more direct and structured songwriting and taking influence from pops creme de la creme, Britney Spears "Blackout" album, EL begins the transition from doubtful to certainty.  

Tarquin Manek & Ying-Li Hooi's song "Sunshower" shines brightly on the Blackest Ever Black singles compilation Stupid As A Painter Thick As A Sculptor (2016). Live the duo are known to careen from sound art to off pop with an unhinged attitude utilising samplers, synths, guitars, and voices.
