Cong Josie, a moonlighting singer from somewhere deep in the Melbourne sprawl. It is a subconscious driven, dream-state livin', hyper-real feeling that Cong springs from. It manifests itself as songs of childhood rock & roll fantasy, throbbing late night electronics, switchblade-sharp nostalgia and genuine, heartfelt mental-health purging. All this is coloured by absurdist and stoic gallows humour acquired by lived experiences.
This is Cong's debut performance with a band - one made up of figures with pseudonyms from cult Melbourne acts. Johnny Cayn, who co-wrote most of the forthcoming LP, as well as Mona Rêves and Cassandra Capri who sang siren-like vocals on several of the tracks will join Cong for this special show.
The debut LP is set to be released by It Records.
