About a year ago, The Mean Times released an EP entitled ‘Stunned Mullet’. It was their dark and brooding follow up the the pop smash hit EP from 10 months earlier entitled ‘Raw Prawn’, and featured such rich meandering bangers as ‘(She Lives On) Oxygen’ and ‘Miss Damascus 2008’.

They also had a plan to promote ‘Stunned Mullet’ with a series of Melbourne shows, some regional Victorian jaunts and a quick trip to Tassie in June. The Spotted Mallard was to kick things off sort of around the time of that thing that happened, so none of those shows happened. Then nothing happened. Then a little nothing more. But little old ‘Stunned Mullet’ couldn’t keep it in his pants so off he went into the world, all alone, on a pointless journey of inevitable, abstract loneliness.

To compensate, The Mean Times will be playing at The Post Office Hotel in Coburg on Friday 30th April 2021, cos The Mallard no longer exists (sort of), this EP deserves a little respect, and to be honest: we’re fangin’ for a gig.
