The Mean Reds play their first show of 2022 with support from the wonderful Sarah Catania. Entry is free, music from 9pm.
With songs about boozy nights, bad decisions, broken hearts and the best intentions, Brooke Russell and her band The Mean Reds blend vintage swing, sweet pop and widescreen alt-country.
“Late-night jazz, croon-and-swoon slowcore, alt-country and heartache country-soul blend together on… songs that recall late-period Dylan, The Delines and Lucinda Williams." - Chris Familton, The Music
Sarah Catania is a Melbourne-based singer-songwriter who has been perfecting her craft in the country-pop field for the past 12 years. The Music Performance Bachelor Graduate began vocal lessons at the age of 9 and has now gone as far as undertaking vocal coaching in Nashville, Tennessee with Voice Lab teacher Margaret Rose, constantly improving in her field.
Sarah has performed at events such as the ‘Country Turns Pink’ charity gala held at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Carter & Carter Barn Concerts, and has supported country music phenomenon Felicity Urquhart at a House Concert in Melbourne’s South-East in late 2019. Preparing for the release of her debut EP, Sarah is set to take the Country Music scene by storm in 2022, and for many years to come.
