Bringing their unique sound to the Post Office Hotel Coburg for the first time, improvising quartet THICKEN explore the boundaries of groove, psychedelia, and minimalism, resulting in a kind of spacejazz, as if Miles Davis' Bitches Brew had merged with mid-70s King Crimson. The combined decades of experience between the band members reveals itself through a bold attitude to musical risk and exploration, and a shared commitment to group improvisation where each instrument is equal and each player lifts up the others. THICKEN features Nick Delaney on electric bass, Tony Hicks on woodwinds, John Kostaras on drumkit, and Kier Stevens on electric guitar.
