Hot Coppers is the new project from exiled British music producer Gareth Parton (The Go! Team, Breeders, Foals.) The live band is an assembly of legendary Melbourne indie stalwarts from The Lucksmiths, The Zebras, Darrow and Mid-State Orange. They’ll be playing tunes from the forthcoming self-titled album (on Lost & Lonesome recordings), Written and recorded during 2020 in the shadow of bizarreness and tragedy with lyrical subject matter tiptoeing between humour and misery. Last years’ debut teaser single, Sunflower Seeds was “a golden splash of sunshine pop” reminiscent of Belle and Sebastian flirting with Badly Drawn Boy.
