Johnny Longshot is a band dedicated to the early era of Jamaican music, playing their own blend of original songs and versions of classics from the vaults of classic Ska, Rocksteady and early Reggae. Tracks from Stranger Cole, Ken Boothe, The Paragons and The Wailers delivered with characteristic Johnny Longshot energy and style are combined with their original material in the genre. A love of roots music is a common theme and draws the members together from bands such as Checkerboard Lounge, The Oxo Cubans, Matt Dwyer and the Dynamites, The Pheasant Pluckers, Cattletruck,  Skazz and the Ska Vendors bringing an incredible depth of musical knowledge and experience to their take on Jamaican music. Able explore all the moods of the music from the lost love ballads of Rocksteady to the raucous and relentless energy of Ska, when Johnny Longshot demands your presence on the dancefloor, you will be there.  We've played gigs around town at the Corner Hotel, The Rainbow, Claypots Restaurant, Open Studio ,The Jewell and The Lomond.
