ANDY BAYLOR AND THE BANKSIA BAND - Come down to Coburg’s much-loved Post Office Hotel, Sunday 2nd October for a Sunday arvo bar-room performance from Melbourne roots legend, Andy Baylor with his Banksia Band The Banksia Band is led by renowned Melbourne musician Andy Baylor and presents great original music which takes the listener on a journey down the back roads of roots music. The band features Andy on guitar ,vocals and fiddle, Denis Close on percussion and guitar , Sharkey Ramos on percussion, Sophie Dunn and Kate Connor on violin and viola and Andrew Scott on double bass.

Andy and The Banksia Band offers a “bar-room symphony”, a relaxed folk/roots sound which encapsulates the essence of Australian music-making. The band draws on old-time genres including Country, Folk, Cajun, archaic Blues as well as West African High-Life guitar picking, Surf-style guitar, Brazilian Choro and Celtic fiddle traditions.
