Lamparina band performs usually as a quartet and serves to the public an authentic experience with traditional instruments and arrangements of a very popular genre of Brazilian music/party called forró. The word lamparina is the Portuguese name for the kerosene lamp used back in the days in Brazil specially in underdeveloped areas where forró comes from. Many forró parties have been carried out at the light of the lamparina. Lamparina is sure to present a very vibrant performance navigating between heart warming slow paced songs and fast paced ones where not moving the body is not an alternative.
