The Burning Bridges are a family band that play Old School Country and includes bluegrass and old time, as well as an expanding catalogue of original songs. Performing since 2012, The Burning Bridges appear regularly at national festivals and at venues of distinction across Melbourne and statewide. The band features Peter Somerville on banjo, dobro, guitar, and fiddle, partner Fran Martin on guitar, and son Tom Somerville on mandolin, guitar and fiddle. Justin Vilchez on mandolin and guitar, and Maxine Sutcliffe on double bass. The band has released two albums so far and are proud to launch their new album “Whippoorwill”, at the Post Office. Ten new originals and 4 timeless classics. Special guests on the album are Kat Mear on fiddle and Craig Woodward on accordion.
