After more than fifteen years as an in-demand guitarist for many blues, jazz, country, r&b, gospel and soul acts, Neil Hawker started his own solo project in 2015.
Coming off the back of a successful UK/Europe tour as sideman for Chelsea Wilson, Neil has seized the opportunity presented by a break in playing for others to establish a unique place in the Melbourne music scene, with a sound that sits firmly in the gritty blues camp, but is also informed by the harmonic smarts of jazz and lyricism of country.
Inspired by the likes of Robben Ford, Muddy Waters, Keb Mo, all the Kings and the singer-songwriters of the 70s, Hawker will bring the very same show that has tickled the ears of the Melbourne blues and roots community to the Post Office Hotel for the very first time.
