Nick O’Mara’s song writing has won hearts far and wide with former band Raised By Eagles, seeing him win the Music Victoria Awards 2015 Best Emerging Artist and Best Country Album and 2017’s Best Country Album.
Regarded as one of Melbourne’s most talented & intuitive guitar players, Nick has toured extensively, both with his own bands and as a sought-after lap steel and resonator player for many acts.
"O'Mara's mastery of almost any stringed instrument bellies the lyrical depth of his song writing instincts, which carry real emotional heft. A musician's dream who makes others’ music soar, he is now stepping out of the shadows into his own much deserved light."
- Van Walker
Nick’s debut solo album, Overland, featuring Ben Franz [The Waifs] on pedal steel & longtime collaborator of Nick’s, Orchestra Victoria member Jason Bunn on viola, is set for release in March 2022. The Double A side single ‘Broken Toys/Distant Choir” is being released in February, and to celebrate Nick and his band are playing at the Post Office Hotel on the 20th of Feb.
“On the live stage or in the studio, with the electric and acoustic guitar or lap steel Nick O’Mara brings something of his own to each and every tune. He stays out of the way when you need him to and then comes in loud, strong and inspired when you ask. I love the stuff he has written for Amarillo and Raised by Eagles and he has been an indispensable part of my Melbourne music experience through the years.”
